Privacy & Terms
Toastr, the SWATS Roast Master, is a SWATS experiment. It writes and voices a satirical roast of a website, a company, or a public figure that you ask for. Here is exactly what it collects and why.
What we collect
- ▸Your email address, to send you a roast code, to count your roasts, and to add you to the SWATS newsletter, which is the deal offered in the pop-up. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing does not affect your roasts.
- ▸By giving us your email you consent to SWATS contacting you about SWATS: our newsletter, products, services, and offers, by email. We may also reply to you directly about your roast or a roast request. You can withdraw that consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to the address below; your roasts stay available either way.
- ▸Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country and city), to limit abuse and to stop people cycling through emails for free roasts.
- ▸What you type into the roaster: a URL, a company name, or a person's name.
- ▸The roast itself: the text, the fix list, and the audio file. They are stored so you can replay them from any device with your code.
- ▸One cookie (`roaster-pass`) holding your code so you stay unlocked, and your language choice in your browser's local storage. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Who processes it
- ▸Supabase stores the data (database and audio files).
- ▸Anthropic (Claude) writes the roast. What you type, the page we fetch, and a screenshot of it are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the text. For company and person roasts, Claude runs web searches on your query.
- ▸ElevenLabs turns the roast text into speech.
- ▸Resend delivers the code email. Brevo stores the newsletter list and sends the newsletter.
- ▸Vercel hosts the app and provides the IP-based location.
- ▸Google Analytics measures visits (pages viewed, device type, approximate location with the IP anonymized). It sets its own cookies; see Google's privacy policy for how Google uses that data.
- ▸A third-party screenshot service (thum.io) receives the URL you submit in order to capture the page.
- ▸We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
- ▸Roasts, audio, and your pass stay stored until you ask us to delete them. Email us and we will remove your pass, your roasts, and your audio.
- ▸Server logs that may contain your IP address are kept briefly by our hosting provider and then discarded.
Your rights
- ▸You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below from the email you used.
- ▸If you are in the EU, UK, California, or anywhere else with a privacy law, those rights apply here too. We are a small team and we honor requests manually.
About the roasts (terms)
- ▸Roasts are satire generated by an AI model. They are opinion, not fact, and they can be wrong. Do not rely on them for decisions.
- ▸Company and person roasts are based only on publicly available search results. The roaster is instructed never to comment on appearance, health, family, or any protected characteristic. If a roast about you or your company crosses a line, email us and we will take it down.
- ▸Only roast yourself, your own business, public companies, or public figures. Do not submit private individuals who have not agreed to be roasted.
- ▸The free tier is a fixed number of roasts per verified email. We may refuse, rate-limit, or remove roasts at our discretion, and we may change or end the service at any time.
- ▸The roast audio and text you generate can be downloaded and shared by you. SWATS may use anonymized roasts to improve the product.
